Known for its ancient civilization and the monuments of the majestic pharaohs, such as the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, and the Dahshur, Egypt has a vast culture and great beauty that captures our hearts. In an effort to combine the modern beauty of Cairo with the ancient Egyptian symbolism, I crafted an Olympic logo that represents both ancient and modern Egypt. The Egyptian scarab represents renewal and rebirth as this is the first Olympics to be held in Africa while, the pyramid that frames it represents the ancient Egyptian glorification of life after death.
